Jed and Kelly

Ceremony: Grace Episcopal Church
Reception: Turner Hall
Jed and Kelly were married in historic Galena, IL and it's one of my favorite locations to shoot a wedding in Illinois! Grace Episcopal Church was built in 1849, and the congregation was established in Galena in 1835. Turner Hall was built in 1874 as a theater and entertainment venue. It's a beautiful and spacious venue for a wedding reception.
This image was shot in Grant Park. President and Civil War General Ulysses S. Grant's home is in Galena.
This image was caught in Kelly's dressing room before the ceremony. I like the way it shows her dimples.
I got this image in the dressing room too through her veil to get the back of her necklace.
This image was simply caught as Kelly was walking to the altar for some family formals.
The Flower Girl stops and throws a single petal during the processional.

The Flower Girl again on the dance floor alone at the reception.
Jed and Kelly inside the Church.
It's not too often I get to shoot a Bride and Groom at a 184 year old house!
Jed and Kelly walk down Main Street in Galena,
I got this image of a guest reading the program during the ceremony.
I love the red doors with arches in churches built in the 1800's. We have a few in the Quad Cities!

I don't think I have ever posted an image of the cake cutting on my blog, but it is part of the wedding day. And I love the red backdrop!
Speaking of the red backdrop! This was shot on the stage at Turner Hall.
I decided to stay at a Galena bed and breakfast called The Steamboat House after the wedding instead of driving home. This B&B has been featured on ABC and WGN as a great place to stay in Galena for a weekend getaway. The owners were warm and friendly, the room was beautiful, and the food was great. I would recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Galena. The house is also rich with local and national history, and the decor and antiques are interesting to say the least!
After the wedding I stopped at a local wine and martini bar called Miss Kitty's Grape Escape for a couple of refreshments after a long day of shooting! Miss Kitty was tending the bar and she had a musician playing guitar and singing. If you are in Galena and want to get a great martini, beer, or glass of wine you need to stop here!
Galena, Illinois is a great place for a wedding!

Thanks for the excellent post. Galena.org is trying to post to people's blogs about Galena if you want to try to reach them about your post. - Miss Kitty!
